CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Theatre Department at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi presented a multiple Tony-Award winning production, Cabaret, in the Center of Arts, Wilson Theatre, on Tuesday, Feb. 18 until Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m.
The story of Cabaret centers on the relationship of a young American writer, Clifford Bradshaw, and a young English singer, Sally Bowles, who entertains at the less-than-reputable Kit Kat Klub. However, the Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them that, whatever their troubles, they will forget them at the Cabaret.
“It’s a great show that deals with a lot of discrimination to a group of people from a certain group, the Nazi party,” said A.J. Knight, who plays the Emcee. “It’s very similar to the events taking place now in Russia.”
