CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students took the Performing Arts Center stage to showcase their choreographed routines during the Island Dance Demo held Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Students donned a variety of colorful costumes inspired by the theme of the performances; Roman Mythology. There were duets by the Dance Composition class and group performances from the technique classes, which promoted the country of Italy to the audience highlighting the University’s Global Islander program.

“Part of taking a dance course is performing,” said Jilissa Cotten, Assistant Professor of Dance. “We are promoting dance as an art form for all to appreciate and enjoy.”

The Island Dance Demo series is showcased every semester by students in the University dance courses taught by Cotten, Assistant Professor of Dance. Students from each class performed a representation of what was learned throughout the semester.
