CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas— Art work done by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students and alumni and other local artists will be displayed and sold during the “100@100” exhibit that opens Dec. 6 at the Islander Art Gallery.

“Visitors to the exhibition can expect to find a wide array of artworks made by University students, faculty, and members of the community,” said Dr. Laura Petican, Visiting Assistant Professor in the College of Liberal Arts. “The exhibition includes painting, sculpture, prints, mixed media, and jewelry.”

This is the seventh year the University has held the 100@100 art sale.  Petican says they normally sell around 80 pieces.  All works will be sold for $100 with a portion of the proceeds going to support the visiting artist program, in the Department of Art, at the University.

An opening night reception will be held on Dec. 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery which is located in the Hamlin Shopping Center at 4024 Weber Rd. The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 18. Gallery hours are Wednesday from 1–6 p.m., Thursday from noon to 5 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
