Nursing Professor re-elected to State Board

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi alumna and adjunct faculty member, Amy Thornberry, RN, MSN, COHN-S, FNP-C, was re-elected to Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP) Board of Directors to represent Corpus Christi/Victoria area for a two-year term that begins Sept. 28.

“I am dedicated to the nurse practitioner profession,” said Thornberry. “I plan to increase membership and promote our professional organization and nurse practitioners in general.”

The TNP is the state’s largest statewide-organization representing nurse practitioners. More than 9,000 nurse practitioners across Texas provide invaluable services including performing physical examinations and evaluations, providing health education, treating common illnesses and helping patients manage chronic illness. Thornberry has been a member of TNP for seven years and has served as the Victoria/Corpus Christi Representative for the past two years. She is on the Adjunct Clinical Faculty for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Family Nurse Practitioner Graduate Program.
