CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Dr. Frank Spaniol, Professor of Kinesiology, was a featured speaker during the 67th annual American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Convention held January 4-5 in Chicago, Ill.

Dr. Spaniol presented “Utilizing Sport Science to Improve Player Performance” to more than 4,500 coaches at what has become the largest baseball convention in the world. Spaniol’s presentation focused on athletic profiling using the Baseball Athletic Testing System (BATS) which he developed. He was selected to present based on his internationally renowned pioneering research on athletic testing and visual training for athletes. Spaniol has also presented his findings at Olympic training centers in Shanghai, China; Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Lisbon, Portugal; as well as the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The American Baseball Coaches Association began in 1945 with 27 collegiate baseball coaches. Since then, its membership has increased to approximately 6,200 members worldwide.
