Eagle Ford Consortium Meeting Held at University

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Island University, the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Port of Corpus Christi co-hosted the regional Eagle Ford Consortium Meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m., in Bay Hall Room 103.

The Consortium, composed of stakeholder representatives from a cross-section of community members, travels to surrounding cities speaking to the public on issues relating to education and the workforce, natural resources, industry, and the community.

Welcome remarks were made by Mayor Nelda Martinez and Mayor Pro-Temp David Loeb; Richard Borchard, Port of Corpus Christi; Teresa Rodriguez, Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Dr. Chris Markwood, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Leodoro Martinez, Eagle Ford Introduction Consortium Chairman.
