Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Joins With CCU40 to Recognize City’s Outstanding Young Professionals

August 30, 2012

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is joining with Corpus Christi Under 40 (CCU40) as a lead partner for the seventh annual “40-Under-40” awards recognizing young professionals who have made significant contributions in their professional fields as well as through service in the community.

Nominations are being accepted through Friday, Nov. 2, for the award which each year honors the accomplishments of 40 professionals under the age of 40 who are dedicated to making a difference in Corpus Christi. In November, a selection committee comprised of former CCU40 recipients will finalize the list. Those selected will be recognized at the Mayor’s Breakfast in January.

This year’s steering committee is co-chaired by past CCU40 recipients Julie Bedsole and Beth Kingsbury Ramos.

  • Bedsole, who was honored in 2006, received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and worked for the American Cancer Society until this year when she became a communications specialist at Nueces Electric Cooperative.
  • Ramos, a 2009 recipient, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Texas A&M University and earned her MBA in Business Administration from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She is founder and president of Kingsbury Ramos, LLC, a free-lance marketing management consulting firm.
