McNair Scholar Graduates Recognized for Completion of Program

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Nine graduating seniors at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi who successfully completed all research components of the McNair Scholars Program received the Certificate of Outstanding Achievement and a medal during the TRIO McNair Scholars Program Recognition Luncheon and Poster Presentation held April 16.

The following students were presented with awards: 

•           Megan Crawford-Grime- Psychology/Philosophy

•           Mariana de Paula-Nursing

•           Katherine Heeb-Sociology

•           Sandra Lynch-Psychology/Philosophy

•           Sabrina Moore-Geology

•           Megan Norfolk-Biology

•           Irene Perales-Community and Mental Health

•           Lucinda Rico-Theater

•           Brittany Stoker-Sociology

The McNair Scholars conducted research over the course of the summer and then later presented their findings at national conferences. The McNair Scholars Program assists in the academic success of low-income, first-generation college students, and students from traditionally under-represented groups.
