University Students Spend Their Spring Break Rebuilding and Painting Houses in New Orleans

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – More than a dozen Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students gave up their Spring Break to build, clean, and paint houses in the parishes of New Orleans, La., for the Rebuilding Together non-profit organization.

Students who participated in the Alternative Spring Break Program from Monday, March 12, through Thursday, March 15, were: Sergio Rodriguez, Sarah Englebert, Caitlin Bailey, Cassandra  Rodriguez, Marcy Scarsdale, Hillary Vallejo, Beronica Reyes, Chris Trevino, Cristal Ruiz, Arlene Higueros, Tony Riveria, Daniela Briseno, and Rafael Mayorga. The students were supervised by Patricia Rodriguez and Jack Pence, University student activity coordinators.

Rebuilding Together works to revitalize communities in New Orleans by providing home repairs for low-income homeowners and their families.
