CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Students from six area schools will receive instruction from noted area jazz musicians during the Department of Music’s Island Jazz Festival Friday, March 14, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

A jazz improvisation clinic will be held from 1-2 p.m. featuring guest jazz artists and directors from San Marcos, Laredo, San Benito and Corpus Christi. High school and community college jazz ensembles from throughout South Texas will compete before a panel of visiting jazz artists and educators.
