CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Students in the Research Ethics and Professionalism class at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will explore a range of living sea creatures during a low-tide investigation Friday, June 27, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in front of the Malaquite Visitor Center of Padre Island National Seashore.
William “Buzz” Botts, education coordinator for Padre Island National Seashore, will lead the “Hidden Treasures” exercise where students will use shovels, small nets and screens to collect organisms in the “swash zone” that include ghost shrimp, small fish, mole crabs and coquina clams.
Botts will also discuss marine debris, dead zones and human impact on the environment. |
