Fry-Day Fiesta to Welcome Families and Friends to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Homecoming and Parents’ Weekend
Student organizations to compete for $2,000 in prizes during Islander Revue

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –A basketball shootout, water-soaking game and an inflatable obstacle course are just some of the many activities planned during the Fry-Day Fiesta Friday, Feb. 1, at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. And that evening, the Islander Revue will showcase performances by several student organizations. Both events are part of the University’s 2008 Homecoming and Parents’ Weekend.

Fry-Day Fiesta – The Student Government Association will hold its Fry-Day Fiesta Friday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Bay Hall lawn. The luncheon will include free food and campus organizations will have activities including an inflatable obstacle course, a water-soaking game, face-painting and a timed basketball shootout.

Islander Revue – Student groups and organizations will compete for $2,000 in prizes in this seventh annual music and dance extravaganza from 7-9 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Contestants will be judged on musical quality, creativity, choreography and entertainment value. The event is sponsored by the Student Foundation with proceeds funding student scholarships.
