‘Math Fiesta’ Workshop at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to Illustrate Concepts of Mathematics through Piñatas, Cascarones

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –The Council of Teachers of Mathematics, a student organization at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, will host “Math Fiesta” Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 7-9 p.m. in the Educational Center for Math and Science in front of the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC).

The workshop will show pre-service teachers on campus how to teach culturally relevant mathematics through literature and activities such as fractions with cascarones, probability with piñatas, and geometry with papel picado.
