Homecoming and Parents’ Weekend at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Culminates with a Downtown Parade, Game and Bash

WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 2, from 6-8p.m. – After-Game Bash
Port and Brewster Streets – Start of the Parade
WHERE: Art Museum of South Texas and the Water Gardens – After-Game Bash

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A downtown parade of decorated floats and the After-Game Bash featuring two live shows are some of many highlights which will culminate the 2008 Homecoming and Parents’ Weekend at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

Homecoming Parade – The Homecoming Parade begins at 2 p.m. at Whataburger Field at Port and Brewster Streets and will travel east on Brewster Street, south on Mesquite Street, east on Palo Alto Street and will end at the American Bank Center parking lot 7.

The parade, which includes Grand Marshal, University President Flavius Killebrew, more than 15 student organizations and the Corpus Christi King High School Royalettes, will lead the way during the march to the American Bank Center to watch the Islander men’s basketball team compete against UT San Antonio at 4 p.m.

After-Game Bash – Following the game, Texas country rockers, The Scott Wiggins Band, will entertain at the Water Gardens, while the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Jazz Ensemble pipes out jazz favorites at the Art Museum of South Texas. Both are free.
