Ray High School Students Analyze Water Samples at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Learn About Gulf of Mexico Careers

WHERE: Wet Lab, First Floor of the Early Childhood Math and Science Center (Round Building Next to the Early Childhood Development Center)

CORPUS CHRISTI – Around 120 students from Ray High School will analyze water samples from Corpus Christi Bay for various chemical parameters during a hands-on water quality test workshop Tuesday, April 15, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Early Childhood Math and Science Center at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

The students will test water samples for pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrates and ammonia. They will also learn about careers associated with the Gulf of Mexico and higher education opportunities offered by the University.

The trip is part of an initiative by the University and the College of Science and Technology to increase college awareness and to create a college-going culture in South Texas.
