Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Police Department to Host Safety Fair as part of National Campus Safety Awareness Month
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The University Police Department at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will host its first Campus Safety Fair Thursday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom.
The fair, held in conjunction with National Campus Safety Awareness Month, will provide the campus community with a variety of safety information. Demonstrations will include beer goggles that simulate the effects of alcohol impairment.
Campus participants will include the Islander Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Team, Women’s Center for Education and Service, Recreational Sports, the University Counseling Center, the Safe Communities Coalition and the Office of Judicial Affairs.
Area participants will include the American Red Cross, Corpus Christi Emergency Management Office, National Weather Service, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Transportation, Corpus Christi Fire Department, Flour Bluff Volunteer Fire Department, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the U.S. Coast Guard, American Electric Power (AEP) and the Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. |
