CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Department of Art at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will hold an opening reception for “Daniel Johnston: Re-Emerging Traditions in Clay from Thailand to North Carolina” Thursday, Sept. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Weil Gallery, located on the first floor in the Center for the Arts. The public is invited to meet the artist.

The exhibit, which will run through Saturday, Oct. 27, features a variety of ceramic works using ash and salt glazes created by Johnston. The utilitarian folk potter has traveled extensively to Thailand and other exotic locations to learn his art.
