| EVP Lovitt Retiring From Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi |
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Robert L. Lovitt, executive vice president for finance and administration at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, today announced he will retire from the University in April 2008.
Lovitt, who joined Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in June 2005, is responsible for the financial affairs and administrative operations at the University. He oversees the comptroller and accounting functions, as well as human resources, the physical plant and the campus police department, among other areas.
“Texas A&M-University has presented me with many wonderful opportunities to support the growth of quality higher education in South Texas,” Lovitt said. “President Killebrew has been great to work with and is very supportive of the goals of the division. He has a great vision and will lead this institution in growing programs and providing development where needed. I thank him for his support.”
Lovitt has worked in university finance and administrative operations for 40 years, with more than 23 of these years at Texas institutions. Prior to joining Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, he was the senior vice president for business affairs at the University of Texas at Dallas. He also served at the University of Houston-University Park.
“Bob has achieved many great accomplishments at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi,” University President Flavius Killebrew said. “He has helped us in our financial and operational goals, and his work is very visible throughout the campus.”
President Killebrew said that he will lead the process of searching for Lovitt’s successor. No decision has been made as yet regarding when the search would begin. |
