Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to Observe World AIDS Day with Red Ribbons and Memorial Service

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will observe World AIDS Day with a memorial service, information tables and HIV screenings Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Center.
A brief memorial service is scheduled for noon in the University Center breezeway to remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS. Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to wear a red ribbon, the international symbol of AIDS awareness.
The University Counseling Center, Planned Parenthood, the Island Cultural Alliance, Pre-Professional Health Society, Lambda Theta Alpha, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), and Gay Straight Alliance will have information tables set up in the University Center entrance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to distribute red ribbons, HIV/AIDS information, and free condoms. Planned Parenthood will offer free HIV testing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the University Center, Rooms 306 and 307.
