Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to Illuminate the Campus along Ocean Drive during ‘Islander Lights’ Holiday Celebration

WHEN: Friday, Nov. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. - ‘Islander Lights’ Ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Performing Arts Center Plaza

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Santa Claus and his elves will join in the merriment at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi during the second “Islander Lights” celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the Performing Arts Center Plaza. The evening of holiday fun is free and open to the public.

Beginning at 6 p.m., children may visit with Santa and join in activities including arts and crafts, a dunking booth, an inflatable obstacle course and a moonwalk. Throughout the evening, musical and dance performances by students from the Early Childhood Development Center and the Islander Corp Auxiliary Performers will fill the campus with the sounds of the holidays.

At 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Plaza, the buildings of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will come alive when University President Flavius Killebrew and local dignitaries throw the switch to illuminate the campus along Ocean Drive with Islander blue, green and white holiday lights. In the spirit of the season, guests may also brighten a child’s holiday by donating an unwrapped toy for the Wishes and Dreams Toy Drive at the University Services Center Plaza.
