| Nursing Students to Hold a Health and Wellness Fair Saturday |
The event will offer free screenings and feature booths providing health information

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Nursing Students at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will hold a Health and Wellness Fair Saturday, July 14, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 710 S. 19th St. The event is free and open to the public.
Free blood sugar and blood pressure screenings and body fat and body mass index exams will be offered. Information on diabetes awareness, nutrition, exercise, area children’s programs and breast feeding will also be available.
Local participating organizations will include Driscoll Children’s Hospital, Food Bank of Corpus Christi, Head Start, the Latino Education Project and the WIC Program. The project is part of the clinical component of the Nursing Care of Community Health Clients class taught by Dr. Karen Murray, associate professor of nursing. Clinical Assistant Professor Leigh Shaver will supervise the students.
