CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Sixteen youth will each be rewarded with a laptop computer and printer for their successful completion of the first 10-week Youth in Technology Career Camp at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Friday, Aug. 10, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Corpus Christi Town Club. During the first phase of the summer camp co-sponsored by WorkSource of the Coastal Bend, participants ages 17 to 21 spent five weeks on campus learning about careers in technology such as computer science, engineering and health care. The past five weeks, students have done internships at local companies including the Alice Chamber of Commerce, Bay Ltd., Christus Spohn hospitals, Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department, the Corpus Christi Police Department, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and TOR Minerals International, Ltd. |
