King, recommended to be the new provost and vice president of academic affairs, notified the University that he has withdrawn his name from consideration. No details were provided. Dr. King, dean of the College of Sciences at the University of New Orleans, was to have assumed the post August 20. President Killebrew said he will work with the search firm and members of the search committee on the next steps.
