CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Recreational Sports Department at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will hold its 2007 Wellness Expo for students, staff and faculty Wednesday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Center, Lone Star Ballroom.

More than 40 vendors and organizations as well as several hundred students, staff and faculty are expected to participate in the event which will focus on the “Wellness Wheel,” a framework of health based on occupational, emotional, physical, social, intellectual and spiritual components.

The Wellness Expo will provide students who may not have comprehensive health insurance coverage with an opportunity to have their major health factors checked. There will be free body fat analysis, AIDS and STD screenings, blood pressure checks, and strength, flexibility, diabetes and cholesterol testing as well as free chair massages and fitness demonstrations.
The first 200 people to attend the Expo will receive a free Wellness Wheel T-shirt. There will also be door prizes and several beauty, fitness, and wellness demonstrations. For more information, go to http://www.tamucc.edu/~recsport.
