CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The “Students Today … NASA Tomorrow” team at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi has designed an outreach program targeting the public and middle and high school teachers to promote the importance of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Education Promotion Program.  
           
The “Students Today … NASA Tomorrow” team, led by College of Science and Technology student Robert Nuckols, will explain program details during a rehearsal Friday, April 27 at 10 a.m. in the University Center, Islander Room. Faculty advisors, Philippe Tissot and Galina Reid, and University officials will be present.

The team will present its project at the NASA Means Business Student Competition at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on May 7-9.

Friday’s presentation will last 30 to 45 minutes and will highlight the team’s outreach campaign that includes postcards, bookmarks, videos and adapted lesson plans that will be made available to the teachers through a booklet and the team Web site.
 
Last December, the team was selected to participate in the finals of the 2007 NASA Means Business Student Competition.

The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi team will compete with teams from Arizona State University and the Art Institute of Phoenix, Bentley College and Boston University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Florida), Miami International University, the University of Houston-Clear Lake and the University of Northern Iowa.
