CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Nine local bands will vie for cash prizes and the unofficial bragging rights as “top rockers on campus” when they face off in “Battle of the Bands VIII” Friday, April 13 from 7 p.m. to midnight on the East Lawn adjacent to the University Center. The public is invited.
During the concert sponsored by the Campus Activities Board at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, bands will play 30-minute sets and will be judged on technical skill, creativity, stage presence, vocal skill and audience reaction. At least one member of each band must be a student at the University.
The winning band will be awarded $500 while the second-place band will receive $350 and the third-place band will receive $250.
