Dog Walk to Benefit First Friday |
A&M-Corpus Christi’s "Paint the Island Pink" for breast cancer awareness campaign continues with the “Paws for a Cause” dog walk Friday, Oct. 6 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For a $5 donation, the public can walk a dog on the University’s hike-and-bike trail. All proceeds will benefit “First Friday,” a non-profit program dedicated to underwriting free mammograms for South Texas women.
For people who want to participate but don’t have a dog, PALS Animal Shelter will provide people-friendly dogs ready to be walked. The dogs, and several PALS puppies, will be available for adoption. All participating dogs must be vaccinated, have rabies tags, be people and pet-friendly, and be on a leash. Participants will have an opportunity to win prizes for their dogs. |
