Who: 50-70 Middle School and High School Migrant Students and their Parents; and Professor from
each of the five Colleges
What: Corpus Christi Independent School District Title I Migrant Education Migrant Campus Tour
When: Friday June 30 All Presentations will be done in English and Spanish
- Lecture Presentation by a Representative of each College, Center for Instruction building, Room 113 Lecture Hall from 9 to 10 a.m.
- Tour of the Nursing Lab, Science and Technology Building, 3rd floor from 10 to 11:40 a.m.
- Reading is Fundamental (RIF) Book Fair, Math and Science Resource Center adjacent to the Early Childhood Development Center from 10 to 11:40 a.m.
Migrant Program Brings Middle and High School Students to A&M-Corpus Christi for a Tour of the Campus and Book Fair
Presentations will be conducted in English and Spanish
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will host a visit for middle school and high school students and their parents that are part of Corpus Christi Independent School Districts Migrant Education Program on Friday, June 30 from 9 to 11:40 a.m. beginning in the Center for Instruction building, Room 113.
A professor from each college will present information in both Spanish and English about how to prepare for college. Following the presentation, the students will receive a tour of the campus and will conclude their visit with a Reading is Fundamental (RIF) book fair held at the Math and Science Resource Center. Each family member will receive 2 new books. The goal of the book fair is to create a library in the student’s homes. |
