Texas Department of Public Safety Workshops to Review New Information for Maintaining Sexual Offender Registry

The Criminal Justice Program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will host a Texas Department of Public Safety Sexual Offender Registration Workshop for law enforcement agencies on Wednesday, Jan. 18 in the Warren Theatre located in the Center for the Arts.

The first training session begins at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. A repeat workshop will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. The training will provide a review of the latest requirements for maintaining a sexual offender registry and review changes in the law that came from the most recent legislative session.

According to Criminal Justice Professor Dr. Philip Rhoades, students from the University’s criminal justice classes and more than 100 law enforcement officers are expected to receive the training which is targeted toward law enforcement officials.
