Clean Air Tailgate Fair to Offer Free Tune-ups to Polluting Vehicles, Test Drives of Hybrid Cars and More
The Pollution Prevention Partnership (P3) and Office of Community Outreach at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will hold a Clean Air Tailgate Fair Saturday, Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. next to Champion Toyota on SPID between Nile and Airline.
P3 will offer free vehicle emissions screening using “AutoCheck,” a state-of-the-art engine analyzer that quickly identifies vehicles that are discharging harmful pollutants into the air. When a high-polluting automobile is identified, “AutoCheck” will schedule the vehicle for repairs at a participating garage, typically with no cost to the owner.
There will also be hybrid cars and SUVs to test drive, free vehicle anti-theft window etchings by the Corpus Christi Police Department, free lung function tests, free hibachi grills to the first 100 participants, free car care kits, a prize wheel with lots of prizes, and free barbeque.
