Students to Read from Works Written during Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Young Authors’ Camp

Approximately 60 elementary and middle school students will read from their original works during a special presentation to parents at the conclusion of the 13th annual Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Young Authors’ Camp on Friday, July 1 at 11 a.m. in the Early Childhood Development Center, Rooms 101-104.

During the camp English department graduate students and teachers from Flour Bluff Middle School and Windsor Park Elementary School have worked with the young authors on a variety of activities to help them to experience writing as a fun activity for communication with others and for self-expression. They enjoy listening to a series of guest speakers, including poets and dramatists, who expose them to writing in different genres and formats.

End-of-camp presentations will be made to the students at 1 p.m. At that time, students will be presented with a book containing selected pieces created during the two-week camp.
