Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to Announce Gift from the Lichtenstein Foundation

Scholarship will enhance the student talent in the University’s music program

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi President Flavius Killebrew and Harry Marks with the Morris L. Lichtenstein Jr. Foundation will announce a gift to the University to establish the Lichtenstein String Quartet Scholarship on Tuesday, June 21 at 10 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

Four A&M-Corpus Christi music students were chosen as recipients of the scholarship. As part of a service learning component of the scholarship the members of the quartet will assist Archille “Joe” DiRusso, a retired Del Mar College music professor and former member of the Cincinnati Symphony and the Guild String Quartet, in teaching the violin to children who attend the Joe Garza Recreation Center located at 3204 Highland.

The Morris L. Lichtenstein Jr. Foundation has made significant gifts to the University including to the College of Business and to the Performing Arts Center building phase II.
