The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Fine Arts Department will host a “Dynamic Dialogue” with ceramic artist Lisa Orr on Friday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. in the Center for Instruction, Room 102. An exhibition featuring Orr’s work will be on display through Wednesday, March 23 in Weil Gallery located in the University’s Center for the Arts. Orr, who lives in Austin, teaches workshops and exhibits her work throughout the United States. She describes her ceramic art as functional, for the expressive dinner table, with a craftsmanship that is innovative in its reference to traditional ceramic techniques while being dynamic in its rich color, texture, and form. Her work can be found in public and private collections of art including the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, Pewabic Pottery, and Baltimore Clayworks. |
