Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to Host Ninth Annual Regional Ocean Sciences Bowl Competition

Approximately 22 teams comprised of 120 students from area high schools will take part in the 9th annual Ocean Sciences Bowl at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi on Saturday, February 19 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the University Center.

The Ocean Sciences Bowl is a national high school competition sponsored by the Consortium for Oceanic Research and Education (CORE), a Washington, D.C. based association of U.S. oceanographic research institutions, universities, laboratories, and aquaria that represents the nucleus of U.S. research and education about the ocean.

Competing schools include A&M Consolidated High School, Bruni High School, Cumby High School, Dalhart High School, Gregory Portland High School, Incarnate Word Academy, James Madison High School, McAllen High School, Ray High School, Roosevelt High School, Star Charter High School, and Taft High School.  

The winning team will move on to the national finals to compete against 24 other teams in Biloxi, Miss. in late April.
