Middle School Students to Take Part in MATHCOUNTS Competition at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi
Students from 13 area middle schools will participate in the regional MATHCOUNTS competition at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi on Saturday, Feb. 5 from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Center for Instruction, room 113.
There will be four rounds of competition from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. followed by an awards ceremony and photo session. Awards will be presented to the top three places in the team round, countdown round and the individual/combined time sprint and target rounds. The first-place finishers will advance to the state competition in Austin.
MATHCOUNTS is a nationwide math enrichment program for middle school students. Students compete in teams and as individuals in oral and written matches covering algebra, probability, statistics and geometry.
