District Attorney Carlos Valdez to Discuss Selena Murder Trial During Book Signing at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi District Attorney Carlos Valdez will autograph copies of the just-released memoir “Justice for Selena” on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi University Bookstore.

In October 1995, Valdez successfully prosecuted Yolanda Saldivar, Selena’s former friend and employee who was convicted of fatally shooting the 23-year-old Tejano superstar on March 31, 1995.

Others expected to be present at the event include Paul Rivera, the prosecution’s lead investigator, assistant prosecutors Mark Skurka and Elissa Sterling and other notable trial participants.

Valdez, a graduate of Texas A&I University-Corpus Christi, has been a prosecutor for more than 25 years. He has prosecuted several highly-publicized cases and has spoken throughout the country about his courtroom experiences.
