************************************PHOTO/MEDIA OPPORTUNITY********************************** WHAT: 2005 Clean Air Fair WHEN: Sunday, August 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. WHERE: Whataburger Field parking lot VISUALS: The fair will feature The University of Texas’ solar car, a 16-foot panel van that monitors a variety of gases in the air, and hybrid, propane and natural gas vehicles.
The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s Pollution Prevention Partnership program and the Corpus Christi Air Quality group will host the 2005 Clean Air Fair on Sunday, August 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Whataburger Field parking lot. During the fair, vehicles with pollutant emissions will receive a free tune-up to bring the vehicle up to standards; hybrid, propane and compressed natural gas vehicles will be available for a test drive; and participants will be able to view the University of Texas’ solar car and meet the students who built it. The fair will also feature a “Battle of the Garage Bands” between local groups: “Boots;” “Still Crazy;” and “Carl Lewis and the Dead Beats.” |
