| Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to
Offer Professional Development Courses
for Continuing Education Credit |
The offices of Community Outreach and Training and Development
at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will offer 10 professional
development classes to the public this fall. Those who attend can
earn continuing
education credit for high-quality training. The following courses
will be offered:
Franklin/Covey
4 Disciplines of Execution: This workshop teaches managers how to focus on
real priorities and how to use the tools and processes
to bring their team into alignment with those objectives. The workshop
will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The cost is
$275.
Franklin/Covey
Building Trust: This workshop focuses on building trust and creating sustained
positive change, resulting in more effective and
cohesive teamwork. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14
from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The cost is $275.
Franklin/Covey
7 Habits of Highly Effective People: This workshop teaches participants to
look, see, think, and act differently to achieve better
results in the workplace. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, Oct.
26, Tuesday, Nov. 9 and Tuesday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost
is $350.
Franklin/Covey
4 Roles of Leadership: This workshop teaches the principles, processes, and
tools for effective leadership. The workshop will be held
on Tuesday, Sept. 28, Tuesday, Oct. 12 and Tuesday, Oct. 19. The
cost is $350.
Now Discover
Your Strengths: This workshop helps participants develop their unique talents
and strengths while showing them how to build on
the strengths of the people they manage. The workshop is being offered
on Thursday, Sept. 30, Thursday, Oct. 21, and Wednesday, Nov. 17.
The cost is $225.
Whale Done!: This
workshop is based on the best selling book by Ken Blanchard. Learn how catching
people doing things right and redirecting negative
behavior can improve an organization by increasing productivity,
building trust, creating high commitment, retaining the best workers, promoting
positive customer relationships, and sustaining a competitive advantage.
The workshop is being offered on Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m.-2
p.m.
and costs $199.
SHRM PHR/SPHR Certification Prep Course: This comprehensive 36-hour
interactive program prepares participants for the Professional of
Human Resources
(PHR) or the Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) examinations.
The program is being offered on Saturday, Sept.18, Saturday,
Sept. 25, Saturday, Oct. 9, Saturday, Oct. 23, Saturday, Nov. 6,
and Saturday,
Nov. 13 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and participants must attend all sessions
to qualify for continuing education credit. The cost is $675.
SHRM Essentials
of Human Resources: This six-module course covers the essentials of HR management,
employment law, effective recruiting, compensation,
orientation and training, and ensuring quality performance. The course
will be held over four successive Mondays, Nov. 1, Nov. 8, Nov. 15,
and Nov. 22, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and participants must attend all
sessions to qualify for continuing education credit. The cost is
$475.
Quality Basic: ASQ’s course focuses on the benefits of quality,
Total Quality Management (TQM), and quality tools. The workshop is
being offered on Wednesday, Nov. 3 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. and costs $145.
Quality 101: This
four-day course emphasizes the evolution of quality, process management,
quality deployment, and quality basics. The course
will be offered on Wednesday, Nov. 10, Wednesday, Nov. 17, Wednesday,
Dec. 1 and Wednesday, Dec. 8 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Participants must
attend all sessions to be eligible for continuing education credit. The cost
is $365.
