High Promise Awards Luncheon to Recognize Students Who Have Excelled in Accounting Foundation Courses

The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi College of Business and the Accounting and Business Law faculty will recognize 115 students who have demonstrated excellence in one or more of their accounting foundation courses during the High Promise awards luncheon at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 12 in the University Center Lone Star Ballroom.

During the luncheon, four speakers will share their experiences and information about the many opportunities available in the field of accounting. Scheduled speakers are: S. Craig Brooks, Jr., CPA with Park Jennings and Novosad, PLLC; Russell Tranbarger, CPA with Tranbarger and Welge, LLP; and graduate-accounting students Jill Jacobs and Abby Royce.

Following the presentations, Dr. Moustafa Abdelsamad, dean of the College of Business, and Dr. Valrie Chambers, assistant professor in the College of Business, will present the students with a certificate and inscribed pen in recognition of their high performance and demonstrated potential in their core accounting courses.

“It is always a pleasure to honor these bright young people on their achievements in accounting,” said Dr. Janet Tillinger, professor of accounting in the University’s College of Business. “This is a great chance for them to come together and celebrate their success and learn more about the accounting profession.”
