The Women’s Center for Education and Services will showcase the artistic talents of women with the first “Celebration of Women in the Arts” on Wednesday, Nov. 17 from 6-8 p.m. in the University Center, Lone Star Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.
The event will feature performances by creative writers, singers and dancers. Exhibits will vary from displays of hand-blown glass and sculpture to needlework and photography.
The celebration will also include poetry slams and performances by the Middle Eastern Dance Club. In addition, Dr. Carey Rote, chair of the A&M-Corpus Christi Art Department, will lead a discussion on the impact of women in art.
