Presidential Search Advisory Committee to Consider Sixth Candidate
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will consider a sixth candidate in its current search for a new President.
“The Presidential Search Advisory Committee, in keeping with the guidelines laid down with the beginning of its work, may consider additional strong candidates that it deems worthy before it makes a final recommendation to the Chancellor and the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System,” said Dr. Leo Sayavedra, who chairs the committee.

According to the search guidelines, the search remains open until a final recommendation is made to the Chancellor and the Regents.  “The committee, in trying to provide the best pool of candidates, has invited a sixth candidate, Dr. Walter Wendler, president of the University of Southern Illinois in Carbondale, to visit the campus on Monday, November 22,” he added.

Dr. Wendler will follow the same schedule as the previous candidates who have visited the campus and have met with the campus and local communities.
