Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Students, Staff to Spend Spring Break Installing Computers in Rural Mexico Schools

When most college kids hit the beaches for spring break this weekend, 45 Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students and 10 staff members will head south of the border to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for “Give a Break 2004,” a first-time collaboration between the University, Rotary International and the World Computer Exchange.
During their eight-day trip, the volunteers will install computers in 11 rural schools and connect more than 2,000 students to the Internet.

The group will depart the University campus from the Starfish parking lot in front of the Early Childhood Development Center at 6 a.m. Saturday, March 13 and return Sunday, March 20. For more information contact Debra Wilson in the Center for Academic Success and Advising, at (361) 825-5962.
