Police Officer Turned Author Sarah Cortez to Read
from First Published Collection of Poems as Part of Women’s History
Month
Houston police officer, creative writing teacher and poet Sarah Cortez
will read from “How to Undress a Cop: Poems,” her first published
collection of poetry, as part of Women’s History Month Author’s
Day on Thursday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Corpus Christi Hall, 118.
Cortez, who uses bilingualism to narrate the life of a police officer,
is currently collecting memoirs from Latino youth and will be working
with students from Miller and Moody high schools during her visit.
