Coastal Connections Art Exhibit to Feature Artists from Houston and Corpus Christi Area
Show Curated by Gus Kopriva from the Redbud Gallery in Houston
 
The Art Department at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will host an opening reception of Coastal Connections: Contemporary Art from Houston and Corpus Christi on Friday, March 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Weil Gallery. Curated by Gus Kopriva of the Redbud Gallery in Houston, the show features recent works from 36 artists and offers a look into the region’s current art scene. Among the artists featured will be Tony Shipp, Donna Durbin and The Art Guys.

“This exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to promote cultural exchange betweenHouston and Corpus Christi,” said Richard Gay, director of Weil Gallery. “It brings together the work of many artists and presents thought provoking art in a variety of media.”

The Coastal Connections exhibit is free and open to the public and will run from Thursday, March 4 through Thursday, April 1. The Weil Galley hours are: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday. For more information, call (361) 825-2386.
