Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Boys and Girls Club to Present Books to Summer Reading Club

ParticipantsPre-service Teachers from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s junior level reading course will present books and final projects to the 22 children who participated in the two-week Summer Literacy reading and writing program on Thursday, June 24 from 10:15-11:30 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club at 3902 Greenwood Blvd. Each student will receive four new library books as well as a final notebook of all their writings.

The course, created by A&M-Corpus Christi Professor Dr. Marsha Grace and Anne Baker and Lisa Saenz of the Boys and Girls Club, is designed to promote effective instruction for new teachers, a commitment to children’s literature and the expanded use of story and language to teach children to read and write.
