A representative from the New York Times will be on the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus Tuesday Jan. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to speak to political science classes and promote the American Democracy Project.

In 2003, the New York Times and the Washington, D.C.-based American Association of Colleges and Universities launched the American Democracy Project (ADP) to involve college students in civic activities. As part of that national initiative, students in the University’s Collegeof Business spent 15 weeks revamping the Lindale Senior and Community Centers last fall.

The New York Times will have a table set up in the University Center from11:30 a.m.to3 out newspapers and t-shirts as part of the promotion. In addition, the newspaper’s representative will speak with political science students at the beginning of Dr. Joseph Jozwiak’s 11 a.m.class and Dr. Juan Huerta’s 12:30 class in room 113 of the Center for Instruction.
