New York Times Representative to Promote American
Democracy Project at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi
A representative from the New York Times will be on the Texas A&M
University-Corpus Christi campus Tuesday Jan. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
to speak to political science classes and promote the American Democracy
Project.
In 2003, the New York Times and the Washington, D.C.-based American Association
of Colleges and Universities launched the American Democracy Project
(ADP) to involve college students in civic activities. As part of that
national initiative, students in the University’s Collegeof Business
spent 15 weeks revamping the Lindale Senior and Community Centers last
fall.
The New York Times will have a table set up in the University Center
from11:30 a.m.to3 p.m.giving out newspapers and t-shirts as part of the
promotion.
In addition, the newspaper’s representative will speak with political
science students at the beginning of Dr. Joseph Jozwiak’s 11 a.m.class
and Dr. Juan Huerta’s 12:30 class in room 113 of the Center for Instruction. |
