University Concert Band Kicks Off the Spring Season
Concert to feature music for all tastes
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s Music Department will
begin the spring season with a performance by the Concert Band on Wednesday,
March 3 at7:30 p.m. in the University Center Lone Star Ballroom. The
Concert Band is directed by Dr. John Wojcik.
A special tribute will be made to the late theatre professor Dr. James
Carlsen, who passed away in the fall. Theatre and Communication Department
Chair J. Don Luna will read a poem by Dylan Thomas, “Do Not Go
Gentle Into That Good Night” in Carlsen’s memory.
The performance will feature: “Procession of the Nobles” by
Nicholas Rimsky-Korsakov; “After a Gentle Rain” by Anthony
Iannacone; “The Invincible Eagle” by John Philip Sousa; “Do
Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” by Elliott Del Borgo, based
on Dylan Thomas’ poem of the same name; and “Four Scottish
Dances” by Malcolm Arnold.
