The College of Education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will recognize the accomplishment of 49 master’s and doctoral degree candidates at a hooding ceremony on Friday, Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom. Participants at the hooding will consist of 44 master’s candidates and five doctoral candidates including two graduates receiving a Ph.D. in Counselor Education. During the hooding ceremony there will be a special recognition of Dr. Randell L. Drum, professor emeritus in the College of Education. The hooding ceremony, which began in 2000, was started by the Dean of the College of Education Dee Hopkins. “I’m very proud of our students and I wanted them to have an opportunity to stand out in a more intimate setting,” she said. “The students have their favorite professor present them with their hoods and it gives them a chance to thank their family and friends for the support they’ve provided them.” |
