Give Presentation on Prevention, Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus

is prevalent among South Texas’ Hispanic population
Dr. Kenneth Campbell, an endocrinologist at the University of Massachusetts,
will give a presentation on the prevention and treatment of diabetes
mellitus on Monday, April 12 at 6 p.m. in the Texas A&M University-Corpus
Christi University Center, Lone Star Ballroom.
Diabetes mellitus, a chronic disease caused by high blood sugar or insufficient
insulin levels, is one of the greatest healthcare concerns in South Texas
and is particularly prevalent among the Hispanic population. Its effects
include blindness and kidney failure. It can also result in the amputation
of limbs.
Dr. Campbell’s presentation is free and open to the public. For
