Islander Fine Art Gallery at Hamlin Center to Host “Rockin’ Photo Show” Musical Student Photography Exhibition
Performances by rock bands Fusion and Supagreen to integrate art, music

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi advanced photography portfolio development students will show their artwork in “The Rockin’ Photo Show” at the Islander Fine Arts Gallery located in the Hamlin Center at 4024 Weber Rd. on Wednesday, May 12 from 7 - 10 p.m. Students will show their portfolios in a variety of formats including black and white and digital photography.

Mark Schowalter and Joshua Garcia collaborated on a series titled “Welcome to the Night” which chronicles the night life around Corpus Christi in documentary-style photography. Subject matter in “The Rockin’ Photo Show” ranges from fun and fantasy to landscapes and religion.

“What makes this show different from others is that it is student driven,” said photography instructor Barbara Riley.

“It was Mark's and Joshua's idea. They are very committed to incorporating their love of music with their love of photography and sharing it with others.”

Artwork will be accompanied with live music from the local bands Supagreen and Fusion. Students will be present to discuss their work. The exhibition is free and open to the public and refreshments will be provided.
